Austin Washington joined TrippNT in 2019 as a Shipping Specialist. He has taken on many roles since then and has had a powerful impact in just under six years.
2020 : COVID & Leadership
Austin's leadership skills were apparent from the start. So, when COVID struck and TrippNT expanded its capacity in order to produce PPE, Austin stepped up to lead the PPE team.
As the PPE production slowed down, Austin continued in a leadership role - taking on the early shift (12am to 830am).
2021: Fabrication & Human Resources
As the entire TrippNTeam united back into one shift, Austin stepped into the role of Fabrication Lead. At TrippNT we define Fabrication as all of our small organizers and holders. It was also in 2021 that Austin began to support Human Resources. Austin natural ability to build trust and resolve conflict has significantly benefited TrippNT.
2022-2025: Transforming Fabrication
Between 2022 and today, Austin has led the Fabrication team through some significant changes:
• Production Sheets and Cycle Times: Austin and team created production sheets (building instructions) for every single fabrication product and began to measure and improve cycle time (the time it takes to build a product).
• One Piece Flow: Rather than batching products - one piece flow allows Austin's team to produce faster and better.
The most recent accomplishment for Austin's team is Built In Quality. In their new model - the CNN operator, the builders and the shippers ALL focus on quality. This eliminates the need for a Quality Control role, eliminating duplication and waste.
As we've watched Austin grow in his roles at TrippNT, we've also witnessed his growth as a husband and father. Austin married shortly after joining TrippNT in 2019. He and his lovely wife, Lydia, will be bringing their total brood to 4 children this summer.
At TrippNT, we know that the growth and development of our people has a direct correlation to the growth and development of the company. Austin is a shining example of an individual who used his strengths to harness the opportunities that came his way to Improve Today for a Better Tomorrow.
